General assembly
The 65th general assembly and annual scientific congress will be held at Hokkaido from May 30th to June 1st, 2025 under the auspices of President Prof. Kazuyuki MINOWA Dental Radiology, Department of Oral Pathobiological Science, Graduate School of Dental Medicine, Hokkaido University.

Constitutional division and branch
The society has a Division of Diagnostic Imaging and its annual congress is held every year.
The society also has four regional branches, Northern Block, Kanto Block, Kansai Block and Kyushu Block.
Each of them has their scientific meetings up to three times a year.

Scientific meetings
Two main scientific congresses, general scientific congress and congress of clinical imaging for oral and maxillofacial lesions are held annually.
The 64th general assembly and annual scientific congress was held at Niigata from May 24 to 26, 2024 under the auspices of President Prof. Takafumi HAYASHI. Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Niigata University Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences.
The 5th autumn annual scientific congress was held at from November 3 to 5, 2023 under the auspices of President Prof. Shumei MURAKAMI. Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Osaka University.

Research trends
The research in the society covers not only the field of diagnostic imaging sciences, but also all the fields related to radiology including radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection, radiation oncology and medical informatics.
The current topics are particularly concerned with new technology and clinical research in imaging modalities such as digital imaging, US, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine for oral and maxillofacial diseases including recent progress in multislice CT and cone beam dental CT.
